Jake asked me to teach him how to blow a bubble with bubblegum today. Just in the past 6 mos have I felt like he was ready to handle bubble gum without swallowing it or sticking it someplace for me to find 3 months later. So, I tried to explain and demonstrate. He didn't get it but he was a wonderful little apprentice and we sure had a lot of fun trying.
One year ago we went to my mom and dad's to jump in their piles of leaves. We don't have any trees worth speaking of at our house but my parents sure do. We tried to work on 2 partner gaze shifting with a leaf activity. What a disaster! He so did NOT get it then. He also could have cared less about the leaves last year. We were so frustrated that day. Well, this evening we couldn't get him to leave. He loved jumping in the leaves and getting in leaf fights with Lydia. We tried the same activity that bombed last year and it went GREAT. He and Lydia loved it and they were both 2 partner gaze shifting exactly the same (Lydia is NT so she is my control group of 1 lol!) We had a ball! In fact we asked mom not to put them in the lawn and leaf bags until we could get over there tomorrow and play some more! Jake is still talking about how much fun we had 3 hrs later!
