First day back to school after spring break.

One word: AWFUL.

Spring break was wonderful. He played so interactively with our friends' daughter, Kate, who is 5 1/2. All the adults were commenting on it. All the children were playing in the basement and Meredith (2 1/2) got caught up in the soccer goal netting. Jake came running upstairs to tell us that Meri needed help. He had great conversations with everyone. He acted so mature, so well behaved, etc. He was totally in the game and had so much fun. He cried when he figured out that they had to go home b/c he wanted them to stay "forever." He was an absolute doll baby.

Then, he goes to school today and has an awful day. The stress is too much. He can't deal. I can't deal. I don't know what we are going to do.

UGH.

Did he get out of the "schedule" of things? Is that why school went bad?

No. School had been either just OK or bad all year. It is too much time in such an environment for him and too highly structured. They get one 30 min recess in a 6 hr day and that is just not enough for him. It has been like this pretty much all year.
