The Christmas season is in full swing for Jake & Lydia and it has been for about 2 weeks. We've had our house decorated for about two weeks b/c a Santa loving little 6 year old begged us to. We've been listening to Christmas music nonstop. I love it. I'll be sick of it by Dec. 26th, but right now I love it. Today was such a warm day...mid 50's. So, Jake found his Reindeer antlers with a little Santa hat on them and put them on. While Lydia was napping, he ran around the cul-de-sac talking to anyone and everyone who was out telling them he was Rudolph. Then, Lydia (aka Santa) woke up. So, we had to go dig out a Santa hat for her. Then, Rudolph rearranged the garage trying to get his red Radio Flyer wagon out to be the sleigh. They found a shopping bag full of old clothes, dumped it, and used the bag as Santa's bag. They put their "present" in it...a singing and dancing Christmas dog that is sitting in a green gift box . Then, "To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall, dash away, dash away, dash away all!" Rudolph took off pulling Santa and her bag in the sleigh at about 100 mph. Santa held on tight, rest assured. I got lots of pictures that might just end up being our Christmas card picture and then.............................
Rudolph let go of the sleigh which started to head down the slope toward the storm drain but instead flipped on it's side on the pavement and dumped little 3 year old Santa and her bag full of one present out on the street.
Rudolph apologized profusely. He felt terrible. We decided that it was time to be Jake and Lydia again and head inside to start fixing dinner. Lydia hobbled in saying she wanted to show Daddy her boo-boo's. Rudolph...uhhhhh....Jake gave her a big hug to try to make her feel better and he's been very nice to her ever since. :-)
