This was the first summer of swimming lessons for Lydia and today was her last day of the two week stretch. Everyday her swimming instructors tried and tried to get her to put her face in the water and no luck. They made her jump off the side and we made her jump off the diving board a bit but she didn't like it. Even today, her last day, she pitched a fit about the diving board. Then, after dinner we went to my parents' neighborhood pool to swim and she wouldn't put her face in for me.....until we were ready to leave. Then she decides to put her face in a little bit with her goggles on. Then, without her goggles on. Then, she jumped off the side without her goggles on and went under and then she did it again!
That is typical Lydia. On her own terms. The day swimming class is over.
Oh well. I'm very proud of her because she has been very afraid of that. :-D
